Take the opportunity to see Hunter Valley Gardens blooming with over 2 million rose blooms, throughout the annual ‘Rose Spectacular’. See 35,000 rose bushes in over 125 different varieties. The majority of the roses grown at Hunter Valley Gardens are of the fragrant variety, after all, a rose without perfume just isn’t a rose! Includes rose talks and demonstrations. Christmas Lights Spectacular
13th November – 28th December 2008
Over 400,000 Christmas lights on show throughout designated areas of Hunter Valley Gardens. Every Wednesday to Sunday night from 7.00pm to 10.00pm. Includes special guest Santa, entertainment plus food and beverages available. If you have visited the Gardens throughout the day, entry to the Christmas Lights Spectacular is free with your receipt as proof of entry. Adults - $12.50. Children (6-12years) - $7.50. Hunter Valley Events.
There are many and varied events in Hunter Valley Wine Country region of the East Cost of NSW Australia from great concerts held at three major venues Wyndham Estate, Bimbadgen Estate and Tempus Two to smaller concerts such as the Tamburlaine Twilight Series in January. Annual events include Opera in the Vineyards (third week in September) and Jazz in the Vines at Tyrrells at the end of September together with the Lovedale Long Lunch in May and Hunter Semillon and Seafood in April.
There are ongoing markets all around the area and the Broke Village Fair attracts a huge crowd for the Fair and Vintage Car Rally on the second Sunday in September.
There are Vineyard Walks, Australia Day Celebrations Petanque Tournaments and various Winemakers' Dinners and not to forget Hunter Valley Gardens which is great any time of the year. The variety is endless, something for everyone.
